ID Conventions & Immutable Logs

Global Identifiers

  • Gem ID (GEM): Permanent unique ID for the gemstone’s master record.
  • Vault ID (VLT): Unique per vault (e.g., VLT-001).
  • Coffer ID (CFR): Unique within its vault (e.g., VLT-001·CFR-12).
  • Capsule ID (CPS): Encodes current location; changes on relocation (e.g., VLT-001·CFR-12·CPS-045).
Capsule IDs are location-reflective for labeling; the GEM ID remains immutable and is the authoritative reference.

Immutable History

  • Capsule History Log: Append-only record of capsule moves/changes (prev → next IDs, timestamps, actor/system).
  • Coffer Movement Log: Append-only movements in/out of coffers, including authorization trail.
  • Cross-refs: Each log entry references the immutable GEM ID and prior log hash for integrity.
Design for export to JSONL/CSV and signing (e.g., Merkle root per period) to support audits and digital issuance.

Usage Guidelines

  • Describe top-down: Reserve Array → Vault → Coffer → Capsule.
  • Use Vault for primary fortified divisions only.
  • Use Coffer for standardized compartments within a vault.
  • Use Capsule for the smallest custody units (location-encoded ID).
